Hazards and Protection.
Storage
Store in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area.
Protection
Use approved respirator, chemical safety goggles, PVC gloves, boots and protective clothes.
Respirators
Respirator with cartridge providing protection against acid gas-organic vapour or self-contained breathing apparatus. For short term exposure to low concentrations, an approved combination acid gas-organic vapor gas mask is suitable.
Small spills/leaks
Spread Soda Ash or Sodium Bicarbonate over the spillage and carefully collect in a suitable container for disposal. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete.
Stability
stable under normal conditions.
Incompatibilities
Strong bases, strong oxidizing agents.

Fire.

Fire fighting
Extinguish with carbon dioxide, dry chemicals, foam, water spray (fog). Fire fighters should wear full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) in positive pressure mode.
Combustion products
When heated to decomposition, may release poisonous and corrosive fumes of Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen Bromide.
