Description
Clear to light yellow liquid, peppermint or camphor-like odor.
Uses
Produced in large amounts for fungicides, eg triademefon, an important intermediate for this type of fungicide is triazolylpinacolone, a further use is the synthesis of herbicides, eg metribuzin.

Storage

Exposure effects
Limited studies have generally documented little or no effect of ketones on reproduction in experimental animals. Human data is lacking. 2,5-Hexanedione has an effect on spermatogenesis in male experimental animals.
   Ingestion
May cause irritation of the digestive tract. May be harmful if swallowed.
   Inhalation
May cause respiratory tract irritation. Vapors may cause dizziness or suffocation.

First aid
 
   Ingestion
If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid immediately.
   Inhalation
Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.
   Skin
Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.
