Hazards and Protection.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place. Store in a tightly closed container. Keep away from water.
Handling
Wash thoroughly after handling. Use only in a well ventilated area. Minimize dust generation and accumulation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Do not allow contact with water.
Protection
Eyes: Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye and face protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European Standard EN166. Skin: Wear appropriate protective gloves to prevent skin exposure. Clothing: Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure.
Respirators
Follow the OSHA respirator regulations found in 29CFR 1910.134 or European Standard EN 149. Always use a NIOSH or European Standard EN 149 approved respirator when necessary.
Small spills/leaks
Sweep up or absorb material, then place into a suitable clean, dry, closed container for disposal. Avoid generating dusty conditions.

Stability
Stable under normal temperatures and pressures.
Incompatibilities
Oxidizing agents, acids, alcohols, bromates, carbonyl compounds, chlorates, halogens, perchlorates, potassium chlorates, silver fluoride, tetrahydrofuran, acid anhydrides, silver halides.
Decomposition
Calcium oxide, hydrogen gas.

Fire.
Autoignition, °C
> 300
Fire fighting
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. Water Reactive. Material will react with water and may release a flammable and/or toxic gas. Extinguishing media: DO NOT USE WATER! Use dry sand, dry chemical, soda ash or lime.
Fire potential
Produce flammable gases on contact with water.
Hazards
Produce flammable gases on contact with water. May ignite on contact with water or moist air. Some react vigorously or explosively on contact with water. May be ignited by heat, sparks or flames. May re-ignite after fire is extinguished. Some are transported in highly flammable liquids. Runoff may create fire or explosion hazard.
Combustion products
Fire will produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.
