Hazards and Protection.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place. Store in a tightly closed container.
Handling
Avoid breathing dust, vapor, mist, or gas. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use and store under argon. Use only in a chemical fume hood.
Protection
Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles, protective gloves and clothing to prevent exposure.

Health.
Exposure effects
Chronic exposure can lead to iodism characterized by salivation, nasal discharge, sneezing, conjunctivitis, fever, laryngitis, bronchitis, stomatitis, and skin rashes.
   Ingestion
May cause irritation of the digestive tract. The toxicological properties of this substance have not been fully investigated. May cause headache. May cause nausea and vomiting.
   Inhalation
Causes respiratory tract irritation.
   Skin
Causes skin irritation.
   Eyes
Causes eye irritation.

First aid
 
   Ingestion
Get medical aid. Wash mouth out with water.
   Inhalation
Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.
   Skin
Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.
   Eyes
Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower lids. Get medical aid.
