Hazards and Protection.
Keep tightly closed in a cool place in a tightly closed container.
Containers of this material may be hazardous when emptied. Since emptied containers retain product residues (vapor, liquid, and/or solid), all hazard precautions given in the data sheet must be observed. Emergency eyewash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of potential exposure.
Wear appropriate protective gloves, clothing and goggles.
Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Keep sparks, flames, and other sources of ignition away. Keep material out of water sources and sewers. Build dikes to contain flow as necessary. Attempt to stop leak if without undue personnel hazard.
May react explosively.
Nitrogen compounds, nitrogen oxides.
Flood with water. Cool all affected containers with flooding quantities of water. Apply water from as far a distance as possible.
These substances will accelerate burning when involved in a fire.
These substances will accelerate burning when involved in a fire. Some may decompose explosively when heated or involved in a fire. May explode from heat or contamination. Some will react explosively with hydrocarbons (fuels). May ignite combustibles (wood, paper, oil, clothing, etc.). Containers may explode when heated. Runoff may create fire or explosion hazard.
Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.
TLV (as TWA): ppm; 5 (dust) or 1 (fume) mg/m3; as STEL: 3 mg/m3 (fume) (ACGIH 1994-1995). MAK: ppm; 0.5 mg/m3 (1994).
Ingestion may cause severe injury, burns, or death.
Vapors may cause injury, burns, death.
Contact may result in injury, burns and death.
Seek medical assistance.
Move victim to fresh air. Apply artificial respiration if victim is not breathing. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult.
Remove and isolate contaminated clothing and shoes. In case of contact with substance, immediately flush with running water for at least 20 minutes.
