Hazards and Protection.
Storage
Do not store near combustible materials. Store in a cool, dry place. Store in a tightly closed container. Corrosives area. Store under an inert atmosphere.
Handling
Do not breathe dust, vapor, mist, or gas. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Use only in a chemical fume hood.
Protection
Skin: Wear appropriate protective gloves to prevent skin exposure. Clothing: Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure.
Respirators
Follow the OSHA respirator regulations found in 29CFR 1910.134 or European Standard EN 149. Always use a NIOSH or European Standard EN 149 approved respirator when necessary.
Small spills/leaks
Absorb spill with inert material, (e.g., dry sand or earth), then place into a chemical waste container. Wear a self contained breathing apparatus and appropriate Personal protection. (See Exposure Controls, Personal Protection section). Neutralize spill with sodium bicarbonate. Use water spray to disperse the gas/vapor.
Stability
Decomposes when in contact with air, light, or organic matter.

Fire.
Fire fighting
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. Strong oxidizer. Contact with combustible materials may cause a fire. Substance is noncombustible. Extinguishing media: Do NOT use water directly on fire. Use water spray to cool fire-exposed containers. Substance is noncombustible; use agent most appropriate to extinguish surrounding fire.
Fire potential
Non-combustible, substance itself does not burn but may decompose upon heating to produce corrosive and/or toxic fumes.
Hazards
Vapors may accumulate in confined areas (basement, tanks, hopper/tank cars, etc.). Substance will react with water (some violently), releasing corrosive and/or toxic gases. Reaction with water may generate much heat which will increase the concentration of fumes in the air. Contact with metals may evolve flammable hydrogen gas.
Combustion products
Fire will produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.

Health.
Exposure effects
Repeated inhalation may cause chronic bronchitis. Repeated exposure may cause erosion of teeth.
   Ingestion
Causes gastrointestinal tract burns. May cause perforation of the digestive tract.
   Inhalation
May be fatal if inhaled. Effects may be delayed. May cause irritation of the respiratory tract with burning pain in the nose and throat, coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and pulmonary edema.
   Skin
Causes skin burns. May cause deep, penetrating ulcers of the skin.
   Eyes
Causes severe eye burns. May cause irreversible eye injury.

First aid
 
   Ingestion
Do NOT induce vomiting and seek IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ADVICE.
   Inhalation
Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.
   Skin
Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid if irritation develops or persists. Wash clothing before reuse.
   Eyes
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid immediately. Do NOT allow victim to rub or keep eyes closed.
