Hazards and Protection.
Cool, dry, well ventilated places, away from any acute fire hazards. Outside or detached storage preferred.
All chemicals should be considered hazardous. Avoid direct physical contact. Use appropriate, approved safety equipment. Untrained individuals should not handle this chemical or its container. Handling should occur in a chemical fume hood.
Rubber gloves, goggles, respirator, and protective clothing must be used in spill area. Spill must be protected from acute fire hazards. Be aware of explosive hazard of dnoc salts. (Rmrnr* 5,73/ott) avoid breathing vapor or aerosol. Do not get on skin, in eyes, or in mouth, or on clothing. Keep containers closed when not in use. Use only with adequate ventilation. (Cdnoc* 78/bra).
Use NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator appropriate for exposure of concern.
Evacuate area and ventilate. Wear protective equipment. If required, use an inert absrobent. Sweep up and place in an appropriate container for disposal. Wash contaminated surfaces.
In the dry state, water soluble dnoc salts from caustic alkalies, ammonia, and organic amines explode readily from shock or detonation.
General information on dnoc salts may be found in field firp at accession no. 8400327.
For most dnoc salts, the fire hazard will probably be similar to that reported for dnoc itself: moderate by spontaneous chemical reaction.
The toxicological properties of this material have not been investigated.
Seek medical attention. If individual is drowsy or unconscious, do not give anything by mouth; place individual on the left side with the head down. Contact a physician, medical facility, or poison control center for advice about whether to induce vomiting. If possible, do not leave individual unattended.
If symptoms develop, move individual away from exposure and into fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. Keep person warm and quiet; seek immediate medical attention.
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash exposed area with soap and water. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Launder clothing before reuse.
If symptoms develop, immediately move individual away from exposure and into fresh air. Flush eyes gently with water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids apart; seek immediate medical attention.
