Hazards and Protection.
Wear splash resistant safety goggles with a faceshield. Provide an emergency eye wash fountain and quick drench shower in the immediate work area. Wear appropriate chemical resistant glove.
Wear a NIOSH/MSHA approved (or equivalent) respirator.
Do not touch spilled material. Stop leak if possible without personal risk. Small spills: cover with dry lime, soda ash, or other absorbent, pick up, keep in a closed container and hold for waste disposal. Move containers away from spill to a safe area. Large spills: dike for lateral disposal. Keep unnecessary people away, isolate hazard area and deny entry. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete.
Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide, Hydrogen fluoride.
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and protective gear. Wse water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical, or polymer foam.
Do not induce vomiting. Allow victim to rinse his mouth with water provided person is conscious. Drink 2-4 cupfuls of water, and seek medical advice.
Remove to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Assure adequate flushing of the eyes by separating the eyelids with fingers.
