Exposure effects
Inhalation of dust may cause irritation. May be irritating to skin and eyes (by abrasive action). When heated, fumes containing zinc oxide may be generated which when inhaled can cause a sweet taste, throat dryness, cough, weakness, generalized aching, fever, nausea and vomiting and can lead to brass founders disease.

If swallowed, give water or milk and induce vomiting.

Move to fresh air.

Wash affected area well with water.

Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes.
